The Best Memorial Day BBQ Recipes & Our Favorite Sonoma BBQ Spots

Memorial Day kicks off BBQ season, and what better way to get in the grilling mood than to do a tour of Sonoma's best BBQ spots? Today we're sharing our favorite hotspots for the best BBQ you can get in wine country.

We've also spent some time browsing the web in search of the best BBQ recipes so you don't have to! We've got an entire meal mapped out for you, and the best part? Every single course is grilled!

Freemont Diner | 2698 Fremont Dr.

A Sonoma classic, Freemont Diner is one of our favorites for Southern comfort food, which of course, includes BBQ. You can't go wrong with grits and biscuits - especially when fried chicken is an option!

Lombadri's | 3413 PETALUMA BLVD.

Lombardi's serves classic BBQ in a casual environment. A gourmet deli and catering company, the family run restaurant is the best traditional smoked BBQ around!

Rossi's | 401 Grove St.

Voted 'Best BBQ' and 'Best Place to See Live Music', you can't go wrong with Rossi's. Their motto is Beer & BBQ, and if you're lucky, there'll be live music too!

Busters | 1207 Foothill Blvd.

What happens when a bakery and southern BBQ get married? Busters; that's what. This Calistoga hotspot offers classic Southern fare, and if you've never tried sweet potato pie, don't miss it here!

Maybe you're not in wine country, or maybe you're not in the mood for take out, not to worry, we've done the dirty work for you, so fire up the grill because we've got an entire menu for you to rock the socks off your next BBQ!

Start with this dairy free 'ricotta' dip with sourdough bread from On the DF...

Next up, salad and side dish! These grilled potatoes from Kitchen Treaty look incredible don't they? We also can't get enough of this eggplant & spinach salad from Salt & Lavender!

Grilled corn is a staple throughout my summer dinner routine; try it with parmesean & garlic from Tara's Multicultural Table

Now time for the main course - change things up a bit by going with chicken skewers rather than hot dogs or burgers! These skewers from Recipe Tin Eats combines coconut & pineapple, can you say YUM!?

Finally, finish things off with grilled fruit! Try making this brûléed lemon sour from Boxwood Avenue (that's me!), and satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt with grilled pineapple from The Floating Kitchen!
