Owners Andrea and Moaya were originally just coworkers many years ago, eventually becoming a couple and opening up Crisp. Between Andrea's experience in pastries, and Moaya's background as a chef, these two can cook up some tasty treats. They saw an opportunity, took a big leap of faith, and it has been quite the adventure for them both.
Andrea and Moaya both attribute a great deal of their success to the team they are supported by, or as they fondly call them, "The Crispies". Many employees have been with them from the start, in particular their prep cook, head barista, and morning pastry chef. They say that each and every employee is an integral part of their team, but also their Crisp family.
Valentine's day is one of the Crisp team's favorite holidays, because it allows for a lot of creativity in their baking. They create new items every year, but the house favorite are these adorable heart shaped cookies with sweet sayings- their own spin on conversation hearts. If you're more inclined to traditional sweets, they are known for their chocolate chunk cookie with sea salt. It was the first item Andrea and Moaya developed for Crisp, and could be considered their signature sweet. It is the perfect balance of chewy, crunchy, crisp, sweet, and salty.
In keeping with the latest food trends, Crisp offers multiple gluten free items available at the shop and for events. At the bakeshop you can get vegan soups each week and vegan pizza! Crisp believes that healthy eating should be embraced, but there is nothing wrong with enjoying sweets in moderation, especially when they are made with only the finest natural ingredients like they are at Crisp.
When they aren't in the bakeshop, the Crisp team is still busy. Wedding cakes and custom designed dessert tables for events are some of their specialties that keep them occupied most of the year. More recently, they have been working with local wineries on food pairings. Head into Three Sticks Wines at the Adobe or Sojurn Cellars to eat and sip all at once. Crisp has also teamed up with Viansa Sonoma, serving food there every day and running the pizza oven there on Saturdays and Sundays mid spring-autumn. Additionally, Crisp is creating special wine pairings for Cosentino Winery, Sonoma Coast Vineyards, BR Cohn, and Clos Peagase.
