7 Summertime Party Ideas We Can't Wait To Try

We are experiencing a heat wave, and it's giving us major cause to throw a pool party. Or any kind of party really, as long as it involves ice cold rosé or a blended drink.

Here are 7 Summertime Party Ideas to elevate your outdoor entertaining game and give you inspiration for an end of the summer bash!

1 / The Crab Boil

You already know how much we love an oyster on the half shell, why not take it to the next level with a crab boil? Head to your local seafood market to pick up some fresh crab, then visit SMP Living to get Abby's tips for throwing an effortless seafood boil. Coral colored blooms + crab shells & corn make for a beautiful tablescape!

2 / A Flamingo & Pineapple Pool Party

Why not build your menu around a frozen pineapple cocktail? Save the pineapple shells for DIY vases, and use tropical blooms for fun arrangements by the pool. We're thinking Chloe's DIY flamingo & pineapple party cups would be the perfect addition to this pool party!

3 / Tequila Cocktails & Yummy Confections

What more could you need than Tequila and cake? Nothing. This tropical cookie decorating party from Scarlett & Grace with Milou + Olin Photography and Paper Heart Patisserie is making us want to drop everything and make an agua fresca cocktail!

4 / A Taco Bar Party. Enough said.

We heard tacos, and we immediately RSVP'd yes. This is such an easy party idea because tacos are basically DIY food - throw in a few margaritas, and you've got yourself a party. Bonus: you won't even notice how hot it is after your second round! Carlie Statsky, Christine Cater, Beijos EventsEngaged and Inspired are the geniuses behind this soirée!

5 / A Glamorous Bohemian Soirée

Complete with flower crowns, a perfectly pretty floral salad, and flowy skirts, this boho party beats Coachella. Hosted & styled by Lark & Linen and photographed by Heidi Lau - you're going to want to ditch your shoes and head to the beach!

6 / A No-Cook Summer Dinner Party

Last time we checked, it was approximately 176 degrees outside. That means, we definitely aren't in the mood to stand in front of a hot stove, let alone, a hot grill. This no-cook summer dinner party menu from Camille Styles is the perfect way to party without melting by a fire.

7 / A Boozy Popsicle Party

This two-ingredient bubbly Popsicle cocktail from Dirty Apron is the perfect way to cool off during a heat wave. Whether pool-side or beach-side, you don't need anything but Popsicles & some bubbly!

The Best Memorial Day BBQ Recipes & Our Favorite Sonoma BBQ Spots

Memorial Day kicks off BBQ season, and what better way to get in the grilling mood than to do a tour of Sonoma's best BBQ spots? Today we're sharing our favorite hotspots for the best BBQ you can get in wine country.

We've also spent some time browsing the web in search of the best BBQ recipes so you don't have to! We've got an entire meal mapped out for you, and the best part? Every single course is grilled!

Freemont Diner | 2698 Fremont Dr.

A Sonoma classic, Freemont Diner is one of our favorites for Southern comfort food, which of course, includes BBQ. You can't go wrong with grits and biscuits - especially when fried chicken is an option!

Lombadri's | 3413 PETALUMA BLVD.

Lombardi's serves classic BBQ in a casual environment. A gourmet deli and catering company, the family run restaurant is the best traditional smoked BBQ around!

Rossi's | 401 Grove St.

Voted 'Best BBQ' and 'Best Place to See Live Music', you can't go wrong with Rossi's. Their motto is Beer & BBQ, and if you're lucky, there'll be live music too!

Busters | 1207 Foothill Blvd.

What happens when a bakery and southern BBQ get married? Busters; that's what. This Calistoga hotspot offers classic Southern fare, and if you've never tried sweet potato pie, don't miss it here!

Maybe you're not in wine country, or maybe you're not in the mood for take out, not to worry, we've done the dirty work for you, so fire up the grill because we've got an entire menu for you to rock the socks off your next BBQ!

Start with this dairy free 'ricotta' dip with sourdough bread from On the DF...

Next up, salad and side dish! These grilled potatoes from Kitchen Treaty look incredible don't they? We also can't get enough of this eggplant & spinach salad from Salt & Lavender!

Grilled corn is a staple throughout my summer dinner routine; try it with parmesean & garlic from Tara's Multicultural Table

Now time for the main course - change things up a bit by going with chicken skewers rather than hot dogs or burgers! These skewers from Recipe Tin Eats combines coconut & pineapple, can you say YUM!?

Finally, finish things off with grilled fruit! Try making this brûléed lemon sour from Boxwood Avenue (that's me!), and satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt with grilled pineapple from The Floating Kitchen!

Memorial Day BBQ Recipe & Decor Inspiration

Memorial Day is right around the corner - and although we've been having wild weather over here on the west coast, you can bet that we'll be donning our favorite white denim and sipping a signature cocktail to kick off the summer season and honor service men and women who have lost their lives.

We love a good themed party, who doesn't? Here is a round up of some of our favorite Memorial Day recipes and decor, plus a few tips for mastering the Memorial Day BBQ!

Try a fun twist on ice! We love surprising and delighting guests - so why not spend a few extra minutes upgrading your ice to give guests a little surprise in their cocktail!

Bite size food is fun! Kids aren't the only ones who enjoy bite-size food - get creative by pairing patriotic colored foods together to make simple recipes seem fancy.

Think of easy ways to decorate your patio. We love the way these red, white, and blue streamers create a patriotic inspired space. Without spending a lot of money or time, you can add patriotic touches to your exterior - try sprinkling chalk over star templates on your lawn!

Use natural elements in your decor. Themed parties don't always need to look like you went to Party City and bought everything in sight; try using natural elements to incorporate the theme into your decor and recipes. Use fresh fruits and veggies, and in-season blooms on your table!
