Beautycounter is a line of beauty products from makeup to skincare, made safer by the removal of over 1500 questionable chemicals and additives that most beauty products in the US contain. "Unlike many other "natural" skin care and beauty lines, beauty counter really works," said Jenna Maze, local makeup artist and Beautycounter consultant. Jenna has 10 years of experience in the beauty industry, and as a mom of two (soon to be three) adorable kids, she has made an effort to become more conscious about what products she is using on her body and in her home. All of the gorgeous make up and hair that you see from our shoot were styled with Beautycounter products, and by Jenna Maze. You can follow Jenna on Instagram and shop the products here.

Our beautiful model is Adrienne Shubin, of The Rich Life in Wine Country. Her wine country lifestyle blog is a great place to go for travel tips, fashion advice, food and wine recommendations, and much more. Adrienne was kind enough to sit down with ASL and share some of her favorite tips for dressing up or down this Valentine's Day! Check out her blog here.
When creating Adrienne's look Jenna began with Beautycounter's Tint Skin Foundation. This product is lightweight and creamy, and provides effortless coverage of imperfections. It can even the color of your skin tones in 8 blend-able shades; Linen and Sand are seen on Adrienne here. The next product Jenna used was the Touchup Skin Concealer Pen. This long lasting concealer provides flawless wear and hides dark circles, redness, and imperfections. The click brush applicator makes on the go touch-ups and applications easy and mess free. To add just a hint of color, Jenna used the Color Pinch Cream Blush in Caramel. This subtle shade brightens with natural dewy color, and simultaneously hydrates the skin.
For Adrienne's eyes, Jenna chose to showcase Beautycounter's fabulous new Desert Sunrise Palette that is a combination of luminous, complimentary shadows and blushes. You see Adrienne in the pearl and champagne shadows. To add dimension to the look, Jenna used the Color Outline Eye Pencil in Navy which created a softer look than a black would have. This waterproof, creamy liner goes on smooth and stays put for long lasting wear. For her lashes, she used the Lengthening Mascara in black. This mascara provides dramatic length and definition, while conditioning the lashes as you wear it. We all know that in 2017 no look is complete without some fabulous brows, and Jenna accentuated Adrienne's with the Color Define Brow Pencil in medium.
Finally, to top off this look, Jenna chose a bright lip for a pop of Valentine's Day color. Starting with the Lip Sheer in Scarlett, Jenna layered this with the Lip Gloss in Ruby. She also recommends that you prep your lips before hand with the Lip Conditioner, in peppermint.
Look 1: Bold Red
Got a whole day of activities planned? This look is versatile, comfortable, and classically Valentine's Day. Sip some wine at Keating Wines, Meadowcroft Wines, or Poseidon Vineyard and Obsidian Ridge.
"Red is the signature Valentine's Day Color. Make red the star of the show by wearing a red tunic or over-sized sweater and pairing it with black ankle pants and black pumps with flirty ankle straps. Add a loose up-do and a long gold necklace with pendants and you've got a Valentine's Day look that will take you from day to night."
Look 2: Lacey Romance
Sometimes, less is more. This beauty of this look is in its simplicity. The classic jewelry paired with a black top and denim bottoms is great for a Valentine's day that is an elevated casual. Head to Prohibition Spirits for an afternoon of tasting their fines craft libations.
"Lace and romance just go together. For a dressed-up denim look I wore a black tunic with lace panels on the shoulders and lace poet sleeves with flared jeans and heels for a boho vibe. I added oversized white gold diamond encrusted hoop earrings and a delicate white gold necklace with a single diamond."
For the more casual looks 2 and 3, Jenna decided to amp up the makeup with a smoky eye and a darker lip. She added two shadows from the Desert Sunrise Palette: khaki as the base, and pinot for the smoke. The lip sheer is in twig.
"If your romantic plans include a picnic or even lots of walking, try a casual jean look with low-heeled booties and lightweight layers. I wore a long white camisole with a while asymmetrical sweater with a subtle swath of silver on the front."
Our favorite part about this look is her playful hairstyles. Whether you opt for a messy bun or a flirty pony-tail, this outfit is comfy and cute.
Look 4: The Cut-out Trend
If you love getting dolled up for Valentine's Day, this is definitely your look. Whether you are going out to eat, or having a romantic dinner in, Chateau Sonoma is a great place to pick up a gift, or items for your Valentine's Day table.
"Even though it's winter, you can still show a little skin with a cut-out top or dress with long sleeves. The cut-out shoulder trend makes for an alluring look, perfect for a romantic dinner date. Add an up-do with soft curls, a red lip then finish off your head-turning look with a statement necklace, like this exquisite Tahitian pearl choker. Bring a wrap along with you to cover your shoulders in case you get chilly!"
