Many of us only think of honeybees when we think of pollinators, but did you know there are 1,600 species of native bees in California?! That’s quite a few bees and those bees need gardens. Bee-friendly gardens are flower-filled gardens, and the same flowers that offer pollen and nectar rewards to bees offer us some of the most beautiful landscapes and create an uplifting and inspirational environment that will forever transform your relationship with your yard.

This class is a remarkable opportunity to hear from two of the top people in the field – Dr. Gordon Frankie and Kate Frey. Dr. Frankie, trend-setting and renowned bee-friendly scientist from U.C. Berkeley, will discuss his research on native bees in urban environments, talk about their lives and share some spectacular, eye-opening photos of bees and their habitats. Kate Frey is the Chelsea Flower Show multiple gold-medal-winning designer of pollinator-friendly gardens and a popular garden educator. Kate’s gardens contain a brilliant symphony of color and are sure to delight all who experience them.

McEvoy Ranch Wine Tour

We invite you to come and experience the natural beauty of McEvoy Ranch with us. Explore the olive groves and vineyards in their abundance...get swept up in the stories of the pioneering McEvoy family. Take a walk through our olive mill and savor a taste of our Northern California gold.

Cost is $35 | May our inspiration be yours.

After your tour, stay and shop in our charming retail space and relax over a flight of our current wines—we'll be pouring tastes for $15.

Club members enjoy their discount on all tour tickets and purchases in our shop and receive up to four complimentary wine tastings. Click here to join the club!

Please Note

We invite children ten years or older to join us on the Ranch Tour.

We'll be walking on some uneven surfaces, so comfy shoes are in order. You can also bring along a small portable chair, if you'd like.

The weather in our west Marin location can be fickle—we recommend coming prepared with options! The tour won't be cancelled due to mildly rainy conditions.

We love our pets, too, but unfortunately, with the exception of service dogs, they have to stay at home.

The local wildlife has been known to greet arriving guests—look out for wild turkeys, deer, foxes and jackrabbits (to name a few) from the lower gate all the way up to the Ranch. Please drive slowly (15 mph) after you turn off the main road.

The Ranch is the McEvoy family's private residence, so please stay with your group during your visit.

McEvoy Ranch is not responsible for injuries to visitors. Attendance and participation are at your own discretion.

Cancellations made up to 72 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Please contact visit@mcevoyranch.com or call 707.769.4138 if your plans change.
